I tend to be drawn to architecture that serves a purpose, beyond simply providing shelter. Lighthouses are iconic, and the many that dot the coastal areas of New England, all have a sense of history to them that adds to their mystique. They are stark, simple, sturdy structures, situated in some pretty remote places, subjected to wild weather. Yet they endure year after year. “Coastlight” 35 x 36 o/c.
