Larry Powers at the Powers Gallery, Acton, MA, recently sold this large 56 x 56 piece “Summer Light” to a Concord, MA couple who needed the right piece for a large two-story atrium wall. I was very pleased and honored to have had “Concord Barn,” the painting donated to the auction, featured on the invite to collectors, and the auction catalog. The painting was featured not only on these publications, but on WGBH’s huge outdoor digital banner that can be viewed from the Mass Pike.

Several contributing artists, and I, were interviewed by GBH’s Joyce Kulhawik. Joyce is a great interviewer, and a comforting presence when you’ve got bright lights and two cameras looking at you. Nervous doesn’t describe the experience, and when it broadcasts, March 23, tune in to be entertained by a wide-eyed, shaky-voiced artist attempting to talk about a painting. Seemed like no big deal, until I heard “rolling.” Then everything went white.
“Concord Barn” in its hanging location in the ‘GBH studio, at the beginning of the Auction Preview Reception. A great event, with many of Boston’s serious art buyers, many artist colleagues, and great food. If you wanted to have in-depth conversations about the multiple story lines of Downton Abbey, this was the party to attend.
